What do you think when someone mentions the devil, or satan. Maybe it’s just something a bit like a halloween costume, some red horns and a pointy fork. Perhaps it’s something genuinely dark and evil. Maybe you’re not really sure. What is for sure is that there is evil at work in this world. Our Catholic faith tells us that the devil is definitely real and a not someone to messed with. Jesus calls the devil the father of lies and a murderer from the beginning and the Bible even says The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. Jesus has won the victory over sin and death but the enemy can still come against us. He whispers his lies and his great plan is to lead us away from God and make us slaves to sin. So if we feel this darkness coming against us…what can we do?
